Frequently Asked Questions
How long does coffee stay fresh once it is roasted?
There's no concrete answer to this question, but the generally accepted time frame is somewhere around 2 weeks, assuming the coffee has been stored in an air-tight container and has been kept at a consistent temperature. Basically, the sooner you can drink it once it's roasted, the better the coffee will be.
Will you grind your coffee before selling it?
No. Once ground, coffee goes stale within just a few hours (and no, sealing the bag won't keep it fresh!). In order to preserve the quality of your coffee, it's imperative that coffee is ground as close to brewing time as possible.
Will you ship your coffee?
The short answer is no. In rare cases we might consider compromising on this point, but in general we feel that it is best to get your coffee from a local source.
Where do green coffee beans come from? Do you grow them?
Coffee is grown all around the world, generally in areas that are near the equator and at elevations greater than 3,500 feet above sea level. While some coffee is grown at lower elevations, it is typically of poor quality.
We do not grow our own coffee beans. We do try to buy our coffees from local sellers in order to support other local businesses and reduce our costs (no shipping!).
